Dining at (students under the watchful eyes of lovely, highly competent professors)Last Friday night Alan and I enjoyed our maiden voyage The Heritage Restaurant, GR 6 to The Heritage Restaurant,  which is the port of call for GRCC’s The Heritage Restaurant, GR 7 Secchia Institute for Culinary Education (right here in Grand Rapids, Michigan).Pastry Cart Bread Basket at The Heritage Restaurant in GRThe Heritage is truly gourmet..even won the Open Table Dinner Award for 2015.  Dinner abroad If you follow my blog at all, you may know that Alan and I have experienced Something Mountain. Austria copy fine dining on every (unfrozen) continent around the world at this point, Uku with garlic mashed potatoes and broccoli copy but I want to tell you that if you don’t have the time, money, or sea legs The Heritage Restaurant, GR to enjoy world-class cuisine on a cruise or some exotic globe trot, Pastries at Dining at (students under the watchful eyes of lovely, highly competent professors) you can at least get a little taste (at a reduced rate) Dining Room of The Heritage Restaurant, GR by enjoying a fine dining experience at The Heritage Restaurant!Parking free at The Heritage Restaurant, GR For starters, the parking is free (can you believe?), Staff at The Heritage Restaurant, GR and the staff Professors at The Heritage Restaurant, GR(students under the watchful eyes of  lovely, highly competent professors) Student server at (students under the watchful eyes of lovely, highly competent professors)  are all well trained but still full of the sparkle
that comes from youthful enthusiasm rather than well polished professionalism. Pastry Cart at The Heritage Restaurant, GR (Not complaining; both are great!) Menu at The Heritage Restaurant in GR I read enough reviews to know that there are fans for every entree on the menu, Starters at The Heritage Restaurant in GRbut I can personally rave about a few of the dishes. Mock Eel at The Heritage Restaurant, GR The Mock Eel, tasted amazing (like crispy, candied shitakes)
and was voted “Best Vegan Dish” by the Grand Rapids MagazineThe Heritage Restaurant, GR 4 My starter was “The Rock,” self-seared lobster (felt like we were back in Korea) The Rock at The Heritage Restaurant in GR enhanced with Ponzu sauce.  Filet Mignon at The Heritage Restaurant, GRAlan’s filet mignon was served with a leek croquette, smoked cauliflower puree, black garlic sauce, and house-made sriracha sauce. Creamer at Heritage Restaurant, GR Not only does that sound classically gourmet, it was! Alan loved it. Grilled Lobster Ramen at The Heritage Restaurant, GRThe only dish that wasn’t exactly my cup of tea was the grilled lobster ramen. lobster-at-the-lobster-pot-ma 2I wouldn’t trade it for our dinner at the Lobster Pot on Cape Cod last year, Lobster Ramen at The Heritage Restaurant in GRbut I can definitely nominate it for the most unique lobster dish I’ve ever eaten. is all the delectable little extra treats that they give you Polenta…dishes they’re just perfecting and you might not think to order
but they’d like you to try out for them, Sugar and cream at The Heritage Restaurant in GR and the little added touches to make things deliciously memorable. Bread Basket at The Heritage Restaurant in GR For instance, their basket of fresh, whole-grain breads

  1. You seem to be able to take such good pictures of food. I need to get a few pointers from you sometimes. We have eaten at the Heritage Restaurant and our meals were wonderful.

    • Thanks for the affirmations (for the restaurant too). When we have our lunch, I’ll tell you what little I know. BTW, I’m almost done with your book. 🙂
