In honor of April being National Poetry Month, I’ve written a series of hiakus commemorating our visit to South Korea and Japan last April during their cherry blossom festival. We went primarily to visit our son Michael and his family, but we were delighted and awestruck by the beauty and cultural diversity (and similarities) in Asia! The first set of hiakus recall our visit to Soyosan Mountain, which is famous for it’s bubbling streams and waterfalls, although there had been a drought before we visited and the riverbed was almost dry.
“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth” (Psalm 121:1-2).
