Celebrating the Fourth of July and the Twenty-Sixth of Stephen

Summer Flowers. LiliesI don’t think life could get much better. In fact, it’s been so happy that I find myself holding my breath for fear tragedy will strike and the bubble will pop. Child with hand in Dad's pocket At our church service yesterday, the worship leader mentioned that after a very Ada Paradefrightening pregnancy with multiple warnings from the doctor that things didn’t seem right, their perfect little boy was born last Thursday. His comment was: Cute Baby!“Now I really know that God is good.”* He’s young. I’ve been through some terrible storms and grieved with friends who’ve been through worse, but I want Cute kid!to say that during even the worst times, God is good. God is always good, regardless of my personal happiness or tragedy. God is always good. He always Children at Paradeloves us, and He’s always there, caring for us and overseeing our lives. Period. Still, I also want to praise God for his unusual mercies and kindness in my life. Friends talkingLast weekend was the perfect example. On July 4th, we went early to Ada, so we The Community Churchcould watch Stephen and a group from his church play music before the parade Band at the Communitystarted. Stephen is serving as the worship leader at The Community for the time Children Watching Paradebeing, and it’s been a great joy and blessing! Shetland Pony Ada ParadAfter the parade, Military Marching in Parade  (Thank you, everyone who’s helped obtain and maintain our nation’s freedom!)Cherries in Sunwe went cherry picking at Robinettes, Floating Cherries then enjoyed all our favorite July 4th treats, like a good swim and a barbeque.  Playing at BeachSaturday was Stephen’s birthday, and we had a wonderful time celebrating with Swimming at Hoffmasterour traditional picnic at Hoffmaster, swimming, Kiting kiting, Birthday Partyand a lovely birthday party afterward attended by our GR family and Steve C., 26th Birthdaywho’s been a signature addition to  Stephen and Joel’s events for 15+ years. Tea TimeSunday we were blessed to worship our  Lord freely & spend a quiet day at home! Swimming in WavesWe all woke up sunburned and happy this morning (other than our sorrow over Joel’s moving to Boston at the end of this week). Kids on Sand dune  So sweet. Some memories are like cotton candy: Pure sugar! Thank you, Lord, for our country, our home, our family and friends, and best of all, DSCN4186 YOU, who fill our hearts with peace during both the good times and the hard times, because You are good all the time.
