Beautiful Blenheim, Part 2

26Last Tuesday we meandered together through the grounds of Blenheim Palace 38(the birthplace Winston Churchill), whilst considering some of 33 Churchill’s ever-provocative and inspiring quotes.01Blenheim Palace was definitely a favorite for us,02and if you’re touring Oxfordshire, England, be sure to stop by if you can!43Also, if you have time, they have a wonderful cafeteria with inside… and outdoor42seating on a terrace overlooking some of their perfectly manicured grounds. 45The view alone would have been worth it, but our lunch was also just great! 🙂39After a good rest and refreshment break, we left the palace’s inner gardens03and trekked the short distance to some of the other estate attractions,23such as their adventure playground04and their butterfly house.07In addition to 12

many delicate,14exotic,11and beautiful butterflies,08the butterfly house 09 was filled with 10many delicate,13exotic,05and beautiful06flowers…15and a tiny waterfall.16The other major attraction for us was the Marlborough Maze, which is the17second largest in the world and really lots of fun!18The hedges are just high enough to make it too hard to peek over,21and the trick is to find your way to the middle and back out without getting lost.19If you can’t find your way, there are a couple of elevated decks to help you20figure out the lay of the land. It typically takes about 25 minutes, but I think22Stephie Sam had it figured out in about 10!24All told, we had another A+ visit, and it was with a twinge of regret that we had 25to leave for our next destination. However, our next stop was to be Oxford, 37and there was no way in the world we wanted to miss out on seeing Oxford, after1A Library hearing Michael’s tales from being a student there, and Jonathan’s tales from 2Ateaching there, and so we were eager to keep going. I’ve been thinking…3ALeaving earth to go to heaven is a little like traveling. You have to leave what4Ayou know and enjoy. Even if others you love have gone on before and assure you5Athat it’s worth the trip, it’s still intimidating and takes a lot of faith to make the27transition to new life with peace and confidence.

“Jesus answered and said unto him, ‘Truly, truly I say unto you, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God’.” (John 3:3)

“Jesus said unto her, ‘I am the resurrection, and the life; he hat believes in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live’.” (John 11:25)
