It’s a…It’s a…It’s an Iris!

Well, Kathy and Carl have finally done it! They now have something even better than a warm, soft kitty to cuddle in their arms. They now have a beautiful daughter named “Iris Magdalen.” She was born on March 2 at around 7:30 pm, weighed 8 pounds, 11 ounces,  22 inches long, and perfect in every way!I’ve been thinking about some of my favorite places and the irises I’ve seen there. For example, don’t you love the colors and form of this iris at the Dolphin Resort in Disney? How about this rich copper-colored cluster blooming on  Mackinac Island?I found this gem blooming at Powerscourt Gardens in Ireland last spring, and this gorgeous iris was adorning a cottage garden at Bunratty Castle. There were clumps of golden iris blooming along the banks where we strolled between Upper and Lower Slaughter in the Cotswolds last May.But, I think my favorite irises are the ones that bloom in our front yard!Of course, my all-time favorite Iris in all the world is the one blooming in Kathy and Carl’s arms!

“Young men and maidens together, old men and children! Let them praise the name of the LORD.”

(Psalm 148:12-13)

  1. How wonderful,a beautiful baby girl, congratulations. She shares our Mom’s, her great-great aunt Grace Armstrong’s birthday. It was also Marylin and Bob’s 44th anniversary. So good to know all are healthy and happy. love and more blessings

    1. Thank you. I’m so happy to know that March 2 was Aunt Grace’s birthday and Bob and Marilyn’s 44th anniversary! I will tell Kathy. She’ll be pleased. I especially love it when a baby is born on the birthday of someone we love who has already passed on to heaven! Eowyn was born on my Dad’s birthday, and that’s meant so much to me…makes the day happy instead of sad.

  2. Congratulations to the Armstrong/Johnson family. What a beautiful girl. Thank you for the lovely post as well. Love, Brenda & Tom
